It might help for you to know, what we are actually eating when we go for the easy to grab, on-the-go snacks and yummy desserts, candies and ice-creams.

Disgusted much?
I'm happy to report that these and more can we made with hardly anything, at home, where you KNOW what it is what goes in your mouth and you will begin to love yourself for being a healthy, hearty and hip person.

Ice-cream, for example, can be made with crushed ice, milk and your favorite flavor, or fresh fruit in just 5 to 10 seconds.
Potato crisps, require thinly sliced potato, some olive oil, sea salt, fresh black pepper and a really hot oven and half hour (or less of your time - which you can spend doing a few push ups, crunches or a little meditation with a tasbeeh).
As for bread, nothing beats the naan from the tandoor or even if you are that good, fresh phulkay or even parathay made at home.
Cottage cheese, made at home, from milk a little yogurt or lemon juice, takes hardly 10 minutes and takes amazing.
Chewing gum, dont even remember the last time I had one of those .... instead of chewing gum, take up saunf (fennel), fresh mint, ilaychee (cardamom), a bit of darchini (cinnamon) or your favorite dried fruit like apricots, pineapple and banana or apple. Throw in a bit of nuts as well.
And if you crave hard toffee, jellos, or strawberry flavored yogurt etc, mix up a batch with fresh strawberries, yogurt and a lil honey. IF you snack on brown sugar or gurhh, like our parents used to, you will realize that these new-fangled candies come no way close to beating this taste and to top it off brown sugar is healthier.
Wanna go a step further, snack on fresh sugar cane or make urself a fresh glass of gunnay ka russ with some ginger and lemon.
